This may be for one-off small grants for essential items or regular grants to assist with living costs.”
You may qualify for a grant if you satisfy some criteria.
- Be a former employee of Owen Owen or TJ Hughes (prior to 1991 only) or a lease/concession within a store.
- Be over 60 years old
- Satisfy our income criteria

Don’t need assistance?
We have a network of volunteer visitors across the country, who organise afternoon teas and Christmas Lunches. There could be one taking place in your area soon. Get in touch with the office to find out more.

It raises awareness of issues affecting older people in the UK and oversees, researches and campaigns for changes in policy and practice and offers practical support to disadvantaged older people.
Provides advice and information people need for the problems they face and improves the policies and practices that affect people’s lives. Provides advice such as debt management, welfare benefits, housing, immigration and asylum, employment, consumer complaints and landlord tenant disputes.
The DWP is responsible for welfare, pension and child maintenance policy. It administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits.
The Campaign to End Loneliness is a network of national, regional and local organisations and individuals working through community actions, good practice, research and policy to tackle loneliness in older age.
A Dementia Friend is someone who learns about dementia so that they can help their community. Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding about dementia so that those living with it can continue to live in the way they want.
